Andrew Sullivan Is Quitting, I don’t know Who He Is Though So I Don’t Care

Today Andrew Sullivan announced he was quitting the world of blogging but wouldn’t specify when or necessarily why.  As someone who doesn’t read Slate for amusement, professional reasons or news gathering I must admit I have no idea who he is.

I can’t imagine what possesses a grown man to announce he’s leaving something then not set a date for any other reason than for attention seeking.  I kind of imagine Andrew Sullivan walking down a dimly lit street standing under a street light saying “Goodbye, the world won’t have Andrew Sullivan to kick around anymore”.

Goodbye Andrew whoever you were.  I won’t miss you.

Someone made me aware that he’s apparently the idiot who speculated that Sarah Palin’s newest child is really Bristol Palin’s.  What a great career this guy must have had…

New Venezuelan Law Authorizes The Use Of Deadly Force Against Protesters

In February of 2014, Human Rights Watch issued a stern report detailing violence, deadly force and intimidation already being used in Venezuela against pro-Democracy protesters.  Conservative Marco Rubio tried to have the nation sanctioned for this awful sub-human behavior.

As of yesterday, the Venezuelan National Defense Ministry has passed Resolution 008610 which authorizes the use of deadly force against citizens by the countries National Guard and National Police Force if need be.

From the text of the resolution (translation mine):

“Grants officials the use of potentially lethal force, along with a firearm or threatening another weapon as a “last resort” to prevent disorders. In order to support the legitimately constituted authority and reject any aggression, facing it immediately and with any means necessary.”

This is all of course in stark contradiction to Venezuela’s existing laws which prohibit the use of firearms against anyone to obtain their compliance.

Bodyguard To Second In Command Of Venezuelan Government Defects To United States

Yesterday it was announced by official government channels in Venezuela that Leamsy Salazar, the head of security to Venezuela’s number two-man – Diosdado Cabello.

The defection immediately sent waves through social media and through the limited amount of non state controlled media.

A predictable yet hysterical statement from the Venezuelan government acknowledging the defection reads:

“He deserted from the armed forces in December and has emerged in the United States as a protected witness to defame, insult, and submit to public scorn the National Assembly’s president,” said Congressman Pedro Carreno, flanked by fellow “Chavista” legislators.

Yes.  Because our goal in America is to pick on a Socialist paradise with no food, rising inflation who consistently tops the charts as one of the world’s most miserable places to live.

Salazar arrived in America in January as a “guest” of the United States Drug Enforcement Agency.

According to Salazar, Cabello is the kingpin of the notorious Soles Cartel which funnels drugs from Colombia into Suriname and through Venezuela’s ports to the rest of South and Central America.

To date, Salazar is the highest level military official to defect from Venezuela to the United States since Hugo Chavez forcibly converted the OPEC Nation into a Socialist “paradise”.

The Roof Is Now Literally Caving In On Venezuela

Venezuela’s problems never seem to end lately. With an economy in free-fall and inflation rising at an alarming rate it often feels like the bottom is about to drop out on the country.

But who would have thought the roof would drop out first? During a taping of the National Assembly in Venezuela (their parliament) news crews had to run for cover as part of the arch-way and ceiling above the podium began to collapse and fall to the ground.  The crew took these pictures and tweeted them to social media.

Needless to say, the live feed of the National Assembly dropped out around this exact same time.  Probably due to technical stuff right?

It seems like McDonald’s and their lack of potatoes for french fries are the least of the countries problems now.

Black Students At U.C. Berkeley Paint The “Big C” Colors Of Black Liberation Flag

A black student group at U.C Berkeley associated with the Black Lives Matter movement has painted the Big “C” on Berkeley Hill in the colors of the Black Power or “Pan African” flag.

The Big C as it is known by students is the subject of U.C. Berkeley fight song “Big C” and was constructed by students in 1868.  The Big C was constructed by students who dug a “C” shaped trench in the hill overlooking the university then poured concrete into the trench.
